Visual Studio 2010 Open Space Code is a free event and opportunity to meet and learn with other developers about Visual Studio 2010 .net 4.

The format is loosely based on Open Space (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Space_Technology) and further developed by a UK consultant called Alan Dean (http://alandean.blogspot.com/2008/11/space-coding-day.html).

Open space code has 4 main principals and one law:

The Four Principles:
1.Whoever comes are the right people
2.Whatever happens is the only thing that could have
3.Whenever it starts is the right time
4.When it's over, it's over

The "Law of Two Feet":
If at any time you find yourself in any situation where you are neither learning nor contributing, use your two feet. Go to some other place where you may learn and contribute.

What to expect
Our open space code begins with participants proposing a topic (in this particular event focussed around Visual Studio 2010 and .net 4) to discuss and learn about. Proposed topics are then voted on and developers split into groups to discuss the individual topics.

It is suggested that attendees bring their laptops and ensure they have the following software installed:

Visual Studio 2010 (either release or RC)
SVN client (for committing code for others to learn from)

Venue
Openspace code will be held at the state library. The individual room is tbc but will have wireless access.
